Which horse went for the top price of at the Goresbridge Tattersalls Ireland Select Event Horse Sale?

The top lot at this year’s Goresbridge Tattersalls Ireland Select Event Horse Sale was sold for €37,000.

The annual sale took place on Thursday evening, at Tattersalls International Horse Trials and Country Fair attracting a huge crowd who witnessed 11 potential young event horses carefully selected by Karen Dixon and Sally Parkyn.

The highest bid went to Lot 4, Dobby, consigned by Michael Heery, is a four-year-old gelding by Diacontinus (HAAN) out of Starlight B (HAAN), a sister to numerous graded showjumpers fetched, and was purchased DJ O’Sullivan.

Oliver Townend purchased two lots. Lot 6, a four-year-old unnamed gelding by Querlybet Hero (SBS) out of Ars Vivendi Lady (ISH) is a half-brother to Makin A Storm who was 4th in the 2018 Burghley Young Event Horse Final and Harlequin Vivendi. Consigned by Joanne Curtin and DJ O’Sullivan, he was secured by Townend for €29,000.

The sale concluded with an aggregate of €126,000 and an average selling price of €21,000.
