Weston Park Horse Trials
Saturday – Sunday, 11th – 12th April 2015
Nicola Wilson, William Fox-Pitt, Andrew Nicholson, Sir Mark Todd, Mary King and Oliver Townend are just some of the world’s leading riders who will be competing at this highly popular Shropshire event, which takes place on Saturday and Sunday 11th and 12th April.
Once again the cross country courses will run over a thousand acres of rolling wooded parkland surrounding the ancestral home of the Earls of Bradford – now run by a charitable foundation. It is through staging events such as the Horse Trials that the ongoing restoration and maintenance of this historic Estate is financed.
The superbly constructed course, designed by Janet Plant, includes fences that are both solid and imposing. Each class runs over a different course designed to be testing but fair, with a few changes this year. For many of the top riders in the Advanced sections this event acts as an ideal ‘warm –up’ for the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials in May. The other classes are: the Charles Owen Pony Trial; the Moores Metals, Landsbrook Stud and Mirrors for Training Novice classes; the hotly contested Askham Bryan College Open Intermediate under 21 section; and the British Intermediate Championship qualifier.
The event are delighted that long-standing supporters, David and Catherine Witt, owners of Rookery Park Stud, are to continue their sponsorship of the Advanced class, and they are joined by ArcEquine, who are warmly welcomed to the sponsorship team.
