Musketeer Event Management has announced Walking With The Wounded as Houghton International 2016’s official charity.
It will be an exciting year for the Houghton team as the event celebrates its 10th anniversary and plans are already underway to make it the best event yet.
The involvement of the Norfolk based charity Walking With The Wounded has opened up a new raft of opportunities and whilst everything is being kept under wraps for now, event organisers say the event, which takes place from 26th to 29th May 2916, should firmly be put in the diary of both equestrian followers and those looking for a great day out.
Edward Parker, co-founder and CEO of Walking With The Wounded, commented: “We are thrilled to be the charitable beneficiary of Houghton International 2016, particularly on such an exciting year for Houghton as they celebrate their 10th anniversary. Houghton International 2016 will not only afford us an opportunity to raise our profile, it will generate crucial funds for our programmes which provide vulnerable veterans’ independence through employment.”
Event Director Alec Lochore added: “I couldn’t be more delighted to work alongside such an inspirational group of people. Walking With The Wounded provides a crucial service for injured veterans, to whom we are all so indebted. Not surprisingly its team has already brought innovative suggestions to the table that will not only raise funds for, and awareness of, the charity, but provide spectacular entertainment for visitors to the Horse Trials.”
Walking With The Wounded is a charity established to support the employment aspirations and vocational outcomes of our wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women, those who have been physically, mentally and socially disadvantaged by their service
