Blyth Tait, one the world’s most respected event riders, will design the novice cross-country track at this year’s St James’s Place Barbury Horse Trials (5-8 July).
The New Zealander, who was the 1996 Olympic champion and world champion in both 1990 and 1998 and who is aiming for selection for this year’s World Equestrian Games, will work alongside Capt Mark Phillips, who has designed Barbury’s cross-country courses since the event’s inception.

In excess of 1,000 entries have been made in the eventing classes for this year's Fairfax & Favor Rockingham International, which runs from 18-20 May. In the region of 700 more are due to compete in the additional classes; Pony Club and Riding Club team showjumping, Arena Eventing and Dubarry Burghley Young Event Horse classes.

The weather is looking good for the organisers of Horseheath Horse Trials, Cambridgeshire this weekend.
Horseheath Horse Trials, situated on the Thurlow Estate, just four miles west of Haverhill, off the A1307, is expecting over 600 competitors, from across the region, who are coming to compete in classes from BE80 (T) to BE100.
New for 2018, there will be prizes and rosettes for the highest place first-timer in each class. Additionally the highest place Wobbleberry will receive a video of their round courtesy of Eventful Life with a helpful critique voiceover from Wobbleberry Patron Andrew Hoy.
