THE MAXAVITA LITTLE DOWNHAM HORSE TRIALS (2)

Entries are now open for the 2nd British Eventing fixture at Ely Eventing Centre this season. Running on a new calendar date the venue is again expecting to see a wealth of entries a riders look to make use of Fenland ground conditions that provide excellent going all year round.

Following one of their most successful events ever in June of this year, where the event saw record entries and a wait list for both the Advanced and Intermediate reading like a who’s who of eventing, the Cambridgeshire event are looking to build on their success and offer up a new and exciting fixture in the Eastern region calendar.

The event that runs across the 1st and 2nd August will feature the new BE80(T) course , making this new fixture a truly Grassroots focused event, adding to the existing BE90, BE100 and Novice classes.
The new major prize initiative, the ‘Protexin Equine Premium Novice Accumulator Series’, which sees those in the Novice sections looking to qualify for the Accumulator leader board across the June and August events in a bid to reach the October final for a chance to win a share of the £1,500 prize pot, very generously sponsored by Protexin Equine Premium continues this August.

“We’ve got a really exciting leaderboard of riders at the moment, with still a chance for many more riders in August to shake things up and qualify for the finals. It isn’t often you get a chance to win a £600 bonus for a Novice and we are really excited by this series and have had some great feedback from competitors.” Said Sarah Skillin, Sponsorship co-ordinator at Little Downham.

The current leaderboard is as below with those marked with a Q gaining automatic qualification to the October final, no matter whether they fall outside of the top 40.

The team at Little Downham have been working hard all winter to make numerous developments to the cross country course including another water jump expansion, a new ditch complex, and several ‘old faces’ have a fresh new look.
