The Gillespie Macandrew Hopetoun International Horse Trials joins the fight to Save Gorgie City Farm

Hopetoun International Horse Trials has lent its support to save a city farm in Edinburgh.

Spiralling running costs and a slump in external funding have led to an urgent plea for £100,000 by Gorgie City Farm, and the event has offered its support by pledging to donate £10 to the cause for each ticket sold using the exclusive “Gorgie discount code”, which can be found on site at Gorgie City Farm. The code offers large discounts on tickets to Hopetoun as well as supporting the campaign to keep Gorgie open.

The farm has been running for more than 38 years but financial struggles in recent months led to the closure of its cafe in January and could lead to the closure of the Farm for good. It desperately needs to raise a major sum to secure its future.

Stuart Buntine, Event Director at Hopetoun International Horse Trials, said: “We’re so pleased to be supporting such a long-standing institution and to be helping the local community to keep this much-loved farm open.”
