This week saw the start of Badminton Horse Trials, a truly exciting time for any keen equine enthusiast! I’d heard rumours of a certain new business venture for Mr Mike Tucker (commentator extraordinaire)!
Mike is known as the voice of eventing but what he isn’t so well know for is his love and involvement with Wagyu beef. In 2008 Mike found his love of Wagyu beef whilst in Hong Kong and in 2009 at Church Farm near Tetbury started breeding Wagyu cattle.
Mikes next stop was to Andy Rose of The Boisdale Bar and Grill a top London restaurant in London, from there the burgers came to The Outside Chance at Badminton.
I went to meet Freddie Tulloch of The Outside Chance whilst I was at Badminton to find out a bit more. Freddie was very excited about the introduction of these burgers onto his menu but did mention they only have 300 for the thousands of spectators due, so get in quick before they have all gone!
Now I have tried various burgers around the world including the infamous Fergburger in New Zealand and honestly, this Wagyu burger stands out for its taste! You really get a sense the meat is top quality, it’s juicy and full of flavour and the chef has done a great job or marrying it up with other flavours and presenting it.
I’m heading back over to Badminton at the weekend and if there are any of these burgers left I will be getting another, it was a melt in the mouth taste sensation and I would recommend to you all a taste of a Wagyu burger!
