The Organiser, Committee and Officials are very much looking forward to welcoming all the competitors in March and thank you for your continued support. In the last few weeks two men from the Tompsett family farming business have spent their time preparing the ground and complex. The courses are currently being flagged, by Clem’s wife Mary and daughter Sally. The family takes a very active role, but are extremely well supported by Isleham’s committee, who all work very hard to achieve a smoothly run event.
Weather report today (24th March), dry, sunny but with an odd cloud and a slight breeze, and the Organiser would be happy if this weather continue. Isleham has experienced rain but currently all parts of the course are accessible, but should we have a serious downpour before the event, contingency plans are in place for a change of route of two of the courses. Isleham’s aim, “to prepare a good early season courses and to make the event as friendly and as enjoyable for all the competitors”.
It is advisable if you have not been to Isleham before, to have an additional layer of clothing in your box, in case of wind, as Isleham is run over a flat course it can blow hard across the open fens.
An event cannot be run without a lot of helpers and Isleham received numerous offers of help, our thanks are expressed as means we have in place a full team of fence judges both days.
