The six riders who will represent Great Britain at the 2019 FEI Junior European Championships next month has been announced.

The NAJ Junior Squad will be made up of experienced youth team riders as well as newcomers to the squad.

Amongst the squad is this year’s NAF Junior Champion Georgia Bartlett and Spano de Nazca. They were part of the Great British team that won the team silver medal in Fontainbleau last year.

Leila Paske competed at last year’s Junior European Championships as an individual with Fernhill First Friend. This year she will be riding Billy McFee.

Saffie Osborne, who has been selected with Lakantus, will be making her first appearance on a Junior team having won double Gold at last year’s European Pony Championships.

Saffron Cresswell has also represented Great Britain at pony level, winning team silver in 2017 and 2016 and team Gold in 2015. She has been selected for the Junior squad with Quality Rose.

The newcomers will be Alice Casburn with Topspin II and Milo Kennedy with Moher Prince.

BE Youth Performance Manager Darrell Scaife commented: “We are looking forward to the Europeans. Our squad has a mixture of experience from last year, two athletes with form from the European Championships for Ponies, alongside two talented newcomers, a great mix.”

The six combinations have been selected to compete for Great Britain as part of the NAF Junior squad when the the 2019 FEI Junior European Championships take place in Maarsbergen, the Netherlands, from 10-14 July. Theteam and individual places announced after the final training session.
