Cheshire’s premier equestrian facility has registered its largest ever number of entries for Somerford Park International Horse Trials which takes place 17th – 19th August 2018.
The majority of the UK has experienced harsh weather over the last few weeks and the trust and faith that rider’s from across the UK have in Somerford Park to produce unrivalled going has been evident in the number of entries that Somerford Park International Horse Trials has received.
“We are thrilled with this year’s entries and that so many leading riders have shown their support for Somerford Park, following a very testing few weeks with the British weather!” said Millie King. “It’s a perfect opportunity for spectators to enjoy incredible sporting action with a top line up of riders in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere in the beautiful countryside that Somerford Park offers.”
This year’s Badminton winner Jonelle Price will be competing throughout the weekend along with runner up – British and World number one Oliver Townend. Izzy Taylor is back and will aiming to reclaim her Somerford Park CIC2** title from last year and will be joined by European team gold and individual bronze medalist Nicola Wilson and fellow team gold medallist Ros Canter. Alongside them will be World team silver medallist Harry Meade a regular supporter of Somerford Park, Andrew Nicholson, Laura Collett, Alexander Bragg, Tim Price and many more.
“Somerford is an event I look forward to every year. The ground and courses are always top notch, and it is a real showcase for the sport in the north-west of England,” said British and World No 1 Oliver Townend.
“It is a relatively local event for me, it is a place I know well and I am once again relishing being part of it.”

Somerford Park has teamed up with British Eventing to bring you a BE Supporters Experience which takes place on Sunday 19th August and includes an introduction and overview of the course from Course Designer David Evans, followed by a guided course walk of the CIC2* cross country with top British rider Piggy French.
