Second year of success in the Gatehouse 1* League 2017

Saffie Osborne has added to her successful year by winning the Gatehouse 1* League. 

 Riding Lord and Lady Blyth’s 12-year-old mare Little Indian Feather, fifteen-year-old Saffie wn the league ahead of Chelsea Pearce and Djakota EB and Bubby Upton with Rachel Upton’s Eros DHI in second and third place respectively.
Now in its second year, the Gatehouse 1* League gives riders who have never ridden at 3* level the chance to challenge for an impressive prize package through points amassed as a horse and rider combination at CIC and CCI1* events throughout the UK. 
Saffie, who claimed the individual silver medal from the 2017 FEI European Championships for Ponies, collected her 22 point total thanks to a third place at Withington Manor CICP1*, a win at the South of England CICP1* and from her British National Pony Champion title which was earnt at Brand Hall this June.
Despite a win at Aldon International, the final CIC1* of the season, Chelsea Pearce and her own nine-year-old gelding Djakota EB couldn’t quite catch the leader finishing on a total of 19 points ahead of 2017 Junior European Champions, Bubby Upton and Eros DHI in third place on 17 points.
