RECORD LEVELS OF PRIZE MONEY AT FLOORS CASTLE HORSE TRIALS

The organisers of Floors Castle Horse Trials are delighted to announce that they will be offering record levels of prize money for the second year in a row at their event later this year.

Top riders are expected to descend on the Scottish Borders to compete in the international classes for which the total cash prize pot is an amazing £6,750; an increase on the fund in 2014. The winner of the CIC** will take home a cheque for £1,200 whilst the winner of the CIC* will be £750 richer. If that weren’t appealing enough, the committee are also offering free stabling and prizes to 12th place. The CIC* and CIC** will be run over Thursday 14th and the morning of Friday 15th meaning riders still have plenty of time to get to Chatsworth for their CIC***.

The horse trials have undergone a transformation under the new organisers; Cindy Onslow and the Duchess of Roxburghe. Competitors can look forward to a completely different and re-routed cross country course which includes a fabulous new water complex and bank style jump designed by former Olympic Rider Ian Stark.

The Duchess of Roxburghe says “It’s an exciting time here at Floors with the new course layout, new fences and much improved ground for the international dressage arenas. We’re looking forward to welcoming competitors back to see what they think”.

National riders won’t be disappointed either with changes to their cross country, top levels of prize money and an improved lorry park.

Sponsorship Manager Debbie Whalley says “All these changes wouldn’t be possible without the support of our amazing sponsors, we are delighted to welcome back Quilter Cheviot, Cazenove and many other valued sponsors; this event really wouldn’t happen without them”.

The horse trials will also host Burghley Young Event Horse, Retraining of Racehorse and National Schools Equestrian Association classes.

Floors Castle Horse Trials, Kelso will be run from Thursday 14th to Sunday 17th May 2015 within the magnificent grounds of Floors Castle, Kelso in the Scottish Borders.
