After four years, Eventing Worldwide owner Louise Elliott has sold the site to fellow eventing enthusiast Jessica Crocker.
With 50,000 webpage visits per month in the height of the eventing season, 10,000 Twitter followers and 8,500 facebook likes, the site has grown considerably in recent years.
“When I first took on the site it had about 2,000 twitter followers, it now has over 10,000. I’m really lucky to have had a fantastic team around me, it’s been a lot of fun and very rewarding; but alongside my full time job, covering 100+ BE & FEI events a year has been tough and the continued growth of the site meant it was time to find someone to take it on.”
“I’m delighted to have found Jess and think her knowledge and enthusiasm for eventing as well as the time she can give to the site will really make a difference”.
New owner, Jessica Crocker is based in the west country and owns two event horses, both kept with Alex Bragg. Jessica comments –
“My love and passion for everything eventing is huge and I make no secret of it! I live and breathe for the sport and work everyday just to be able to be part of it, so the opportunity to be able to talk, write and report about the sport all day everyday was a no brainer. It’s a dream come true!”
Although Louise won’t have any continued involvement in the website, she is looking forward to writing the property column with her agent’s hat on –
“I’ve worked for Savills for nearly seven years and specialise in the sale of country and equestrian property so I’m really looking forward to combining my love for writing with my knowledge and experience in the property sector.”
Jess will be posting her first blog as new Editor shortly, so keep your eyes peeled.
