The 2015 season has boasted the launch of several exciting new British Eventing events around the country, including Littleton Manor Horse Trials (10 – 11 October) as well as the inaugural BE event at Millfield School (Somerset) and Whitfield Horse Trials (Northants) to name but a few.
This season has also seen the unfortunate demise of several long standing BE fixtures due to changes in property use, therefore the BE Fixtures team have been working hard with the BE Regional Coordinators to find new venues.
Chris Farr, BE Sport Operations Manager explained the process behind replacing the lost fixtures: “We are currently finalising all dates for all venues for 2016 which, as ever, is an extremely complex task. However, we are very pleased to confirm that we have several promising new venues in the pipeline around the country, for whom we are currently confirming suitable dates.
“When we look at placing new venues in the calendar, we have to consider their effect on other events within a given radius and within a certain time period to make sure we are offering fair opportunities for both Members as well as viability for the events.
He added: “All new fixtures that have taken place this year so far have all been fantastically well received by Members – we are extremely grateful to all those new venues as well as their volunteers and sponsors for embracing the organisation of new events and making them all such a success.”
The 2016 BE Fixtures calendar will be announced in early November 2015.
