Netherlands name squad for WEG

The Netherlands has named its eventing squad for the at the World Equestrian Games (WEG).

After national coach Bettina Hoy previously announced a selection of six riders, she has now determined her final choice.

At the end of July, the Dutch selection was announced. But because there was still much uncertainty about the length of the cross-country course, Hoy wanted to wait to make her final choice. Based on the knowledge that the cross country course will remain the length as planned, competition results, training and veterinary findings, Hoy has chosen her selection:

Merl Blom – Rumor has It N.O.P.

Laura Hoogeveen- Quibus

Raf Kooremans – Henri Z

Alice Naber-Lozeman – ACSI Harry Belafonte

Theo van de Vendel – Zindane

The reserve has been named as Renske Kroeze with Jane Z. Of the five selected combinations, four will form the team with one individual.  Hoy says: “The selected riders are well prepared and we look forward to the challenge.”
