With just under a week until the start of the British eventing season, Moreton Horse Trials is gearing up to welcome more than 300 competitors during its season opener.
The Dorset event, held at Moreton Stables, will see competitors take part in classes ranging from BE80(T) up to Open Novice, on March 3 and 4 with each class receiving strong entries including William Fox-Pitt, Mary and Emily King, Andrew Nicholson who will compete alongside grassroots riders.
This year’s cross-country course boasts a variety of new fences with the BE80(T) and BE90 courses providing educational runs for first timers, whilst the BE100 and Novice courses are up to height requiring a bold approach.
The event has also attracted new sponsorship, with Eventing Worldwide sponsoring its BE80(T) sections for the first time.
Sue Russell, Joint Organiser, comments: “At Moreton we enjoy welcoming competitors for the start of the British Eventing calendar. Entries have been streaming in and it is great to see so many riders choosing to start their season at Moreton with both days of competition being very well supported. We are excited by the changes to the cross-country course and we want competitors to come away having enjoyed the event so they are ready for the rest of the year. It is great to have the support of our sponsors and we’re delighted that Eventing Worldwide has come on board to support our BE80(T) sections for the first time.”
