MEGAN AND ESTER HAVE THIER FIRST RUN OF THE SEASON!!!

Back again… Ester and I are currently recovering from our eventful start to the season following our first run at (Home) Moreton BE90.

As I expected Ester was, well… very excited and overwhelmed to be back out again, getting into the swing of things!

Due to the very exciting atmosphere on home territory we performed a very tense dressage test which was expected, but still left us hanging in the balance in a very competitive section with a reasonable 36.5!

Ester and I then had a lovely and fluent clear round in the showjumping, we had the most exhilarating run across the country!

Of course, it was the most relieving feeling to have a huge open canter doing exactly what Ester enjoys the most!

As I expected Ester pulled me the whole way around showing me exactly where to go!

However, I was very impressed by the time that we had achieved, as we were within the time by about 2/3 seconds from going too fast, so it was very overwhelming to have achieved the time!

Finishing on our dressage score of 36.5 this rocked us up with a very unexpected 10th place!

People may think that 10th isn’t too amazing but, this outing was just to get out and get back into the season which lies ahead and I am very proud of Ester as we have had a bit of a fight to get back into fitness.

Ester and I indulged in a February half-term! We got out only slightly as the ground was still recovering from the all the rain on the previous days! However, we managed to get out to Rockbourne (Tenantry Farm) x-country course and enjoy some of the combinations and the hunter style fences! It’s definite to say Ester thoroughly enjoyed herself, she was extremely excited and couldn’t wait to get going!

Later on in the Half term Ester and I represented our local British Riding Club (Purbeck District RC) in the Intermediate Team Showjumping qualifiers. Ester and I were the only combination to have jumped two clear rounds in addition to our very speedy times! The rain was sure to come down and the wind was causing havoc, but more or less, our team bagged the winning place and have qualified for the BRC Intermediate SJ Championships!
