Long list announced for Racesafe Junior European Championship squad

 The long list for the Racesafe Junior squad that will represent Great Britain at the 2018 Junior European Championships has been announced.

The long list includes the newly crowned Junior champion Alice Davies-Cooke and Sarah Davies-Cooke’s 10-year-old gelding Discovery V. Elicia Miller who was third at the Junior Championships at Brand Hall has also been included with her own 12-year-old gelding A Sunny Bay. 

Saffron Cresswell, who has moved up from ponies to the Junior ranks this season and has been part of the Silver medal winning pony teams for the last two years and won team gold in 2015, has been listed with Francine Fenley’s 16-year-old stallion Sula Blue. And Sasha Hargreaves will be looking to be selected for a second time with her own 15 year-old Playtime. 

Heidi Coy has been longlisted with two rides; her own eight-year-old gelding Royal Fury and David Ottewell’s 10-year-old gelding Carrigsean Tigerseye. 

The other riders to be longlisted are; Georgia Bartlett (Spano de Nazca),Toots Bartlett(Candyman Leanorth), Zara Lye (Jana De Cavaignac) and Leilia Paske (Fernhill First Friend). 

Up to six combinations will be selected from this long list to compete for Great Britain. The long list may be added to or combinations removed in the build-up to the final squad selection. 

The Junior European Championships will take place in Fontainebleau, France (9th – 15th July).
