Louise Svensson Jähde walked away with a John Deere tractor as she took victory in the Indoor Cross Country at the Swedish International Horse Show.
On her debut at the event, Jähde rode Waikiki 207 to victory and afterwards commented: “It was absolutely amazing. This was the first time I rode here at Sweden International Horse Show. The crowd is absolutely wonderful. Waikiki 207 has never been to an arena like this before. But she was absolutely cool. Sure, I was a little scared when Ingrid Klimke went into the track. She is always fast.
New Zealander Tim Price took an early lead with Boleybawn Fernhill and nobody came close before Jähde started. She was quick from the start and got a good rhythm that held right to the finish.
The only rider who came close to threatening her victory was European champion Ingrid Klimke, who finished second with Parmenides. Third went to Ireland’s Joseph Murphy and Electric Cruise. Georgie Spence was the highest placed British rider with Halltown Harley.
Team victory went to Sweden with the team made up of Jähde, Niklas Lindbäck, Ludwig Svennerstål and Sara Algotsson Ostholt.
