Klimke claims indoor derby in Stuttgart

For the second time since 2012, World Championship bronze medal winner Ingrid Klimke won the indoor derby at the Stuttgart German Masters.

Riding the 14-year-old Trakehner gelding Parmenides, she was the last starter of the 23 competitors. And the European Champion rose to the occasion to beat double world champion Rosalind Canter.

“I’m totally happy”, beamed Klimke after her victory. “It was 150 seconds of pure fun. It is an incredible pleasure to ride here, you are excited by the audience. ”

Canter, who flew into the event having completed her successful training tour across the UK, came second on the ten-year-old felding Las Vegas with New Zealander Jesse Campbell and Diachello in third.

Laura Collett finished tenth with Parkfield Quintessential, Imogen Murray was 16th with Shannondale Vintahe whilst Guy Woods finished 17th with Algorithm and Fiona Kashel finished 19th with The Rebel County.
