ISABELLA MACKENZIE AT WEE BRUGIE ….

The last of the big Bs as well as the last of the Scottish events was completed successfully last weekend at Wee Burgie Horse Trials.

There were 9 sections consisting of two regional finals.

The 90 regional final was won by Amanda Waugh on Fan Daby Angus and the 100 regional final was won by Claire Simpson on Margarets Choice.

Both competitors have now both got their tickets to the Grassroots Championships held at Badminton next year.

Wills Oakden, who competed at Blair in the FEI European Eventing championships, took 1st and 2nd in the novice section with Caitlin Padfield coming 3rd by just 1.2 marks. Charlotte Hutchinson experienced a first BE win in one of the 80 training classes aboard her 14.2hh pony Dorus.

Overall, the day was enjoyed by all as the sun was shining, without the rain that usually comes hand in hand with Scottish eventing, and the going on the cross country was perfect. The jumps and course were beautifully presented having been prepared by the wonderful volunteers that tirelessly work day and night.

Big thanks to all the organisers, volunteers and sponsors and of course the Lochore family for such a lovely event.
