In a British first, a husband and wife pairing have been selected to represent Great Britain at the Nations Cup series in Poland.

Ben and Emma Hobday will be part team competing at Strzegom riding Shadow Man II and Shadow Puppet respectively. Emma will be making her Nations Cup debut whilst Ben made his debut on the squad in America in 2017.

James Somerville has also been selected with Talent, with Ben acting as his best man at his forthcoming wedding. The fourth member of the team will be David Doel, riding Eisfee.

After a strong start in the home leg of the Nations Cup series, where Great Britain collected 80 points for second place at the Saracen Horse Feeds Houghton International in May, the British head to Strzegom aiming for their second points winning opportunity of the 2019 FEI Nation Cup Series.

With two legs complete in the 2019 series, Sweden lead the way on 170 points after finishing second at Houghton International and third in Pratoni de Vivaro, Italy. Great Britain has so far only contested in one leg of the series and sit in eighth place. The six best results of the seven legs count towards the overall total.

After winning the most points during the 2018 season, Great Britain are the current Fédération Equestre Internationale Eventing Nations Cup Champions.
