There are many brands of riding boots on the market. But when you ask friends and other riders for recommendations there is always one brand which comes up time and time again. Ariat.
Which is why I was extremely excited to be asked to trial and review Ariat’s Heritage Contour II Field Zip Boot, and they certainly did not disappoint. They are definitely a boot I would and have recommend -most recently to a lady struggling to find that perfect boot on a stand at The Festival of Eventing.
First of all, these boots look stunning being handcrafted from premium leather. When buying new boots, quite often, the looks rank as highly as the fit and these boot certainly deliver on that front. They have a lovely classic look about them with the Spanish cut top line and the lace up detail on the front of the boot. Whilst many people still opt for traditional black long riding boots, the brown version looks even better and really stands out from the norm.
And whilst some ‘off the shelf’ boots might sag around the ankle, the combination of different calf width sizes that are available and Ariat’s contoured ankle design and tighter fit system means these boots have an amazing silhouette when you are in the saddle.
Not only do they look great, whether you have them for everyday use around the yard or at a competition, but these are boots you can wear all day and still be as comfortable riding your last horse as you were the first as they incorporate Ariat’s 4LRTM Technology. When you wear riding boots for a long time, comfort is vitally important and I feel that you could certainly wear these boots all day without a loss of comfort. And where you might suffer from sweating in other boots, the Ariat moisture wicking sock keeps your feet sweat free. Would I need additional socks when I’m riding in the winter – I very much doubt it.
Overall, I think these boots are fantastic and I would give them five stars.
For anybody who is looking for a premium riding boot without blowing the budget completely I couldn’t recommend them more highly.
Practical, stylish and comfort all wrapped up in one boot – you can’t go wrong!
If you would like a pair of these boots then why not head to Burghley Horse Trials where you can have them fitted, to ensure that perfect fit – definitely a must have purchase!
