HARRY MUTCH – Brilliant Belsay ….

We had a brilliant two days of competition at Belsay where I was competing four horses.

On Saturday I took HD The One who was competing in his third Novice. He did a nice test in the dressage and we scored 31.8. This put us in the top handful of riders so I was pleased with how he went. The show jumping was causing a few problems and there weren’t too many clear rounds so I was pleased that he went on to jump clear. And he then flew round the cross country being one of just six riders to make the optimum time. This meant we finished on our dressage score and gave us the win.

I also took HD Bronze and Ramilo to compete in the Open intermediate Under 21 Class as the final preparation for their next big event. They both did good dressage test with HD Bronze scoring 40 and Ramilo 38.0 and they both jumped clear in the show jumping. This left them lying in 3rdand 1strespectively. But because we have Bramham coming up where they will both run in the CIC*** we decided not to run them cross country.

I headed back on the Sunday with new ride Coco Silvano running in the BE100, which was our first event together and he hasn’t evented at affiliated level for the last two years. He did a nice dressage test with a couple of mistakes to 36.0. Like the others he jumped well with a clear in the show jumping and clear cross country. This meant we finished on our dressage score but just out of the placings in 11th

It was a great weekend and I am Incredibly lucky to have such a fantastic team of horses that all feel on top form. Now we have everything cross that the two horses run well at Bramham next week.
