It started with a trip down to Bicton Arena which is always a pleasure! The facilities are great at Bicton and the course was lovely, the team had put a great deal of effort into the ground and it was very much appreciated by us riders!
We had a great dressage, with a score of 26.5. We seem to getting more consistent in our relaxation now, which is really helping to bring those additional marks in. Unfortunately the cross country was another matter!! Rhingo was very strong and pretty much pulled me 80% of the way round the course, with a ... Read More
Whilst we are all sat in this unbelievable heat, I can’t believe that 2 weeks ago at the Riding Club Horse Trails at Moreton, I was wearing a coat and complaining about the cold!!
It was cold, wet and pretty miserable, and for our team not the best circumstances for us. We were down to 3 riders, my lorry had decided it didn’t want to start anymore, and with heavy rain that morning the ground was not ideal. However, for Rhingo, the edge to the weather made him more compliant and he went really well. A great score of 23.3 in ... Read More
May got off to a great start with a trip to Badminton Horse Trials. I went up on Sunday to watch my old boss Alex Bragg show jump. Alex has always been a huge inspiration to me, he is a fantastic cross county rider and it is really good to see him competing at this level. Watching the last 20 riders jump in the grandstand was so tense, as we got down to the last 3 riders, everyone was on the edge of their seats, you could hear a pin drop!! So exciting and such a great result for Jonelle ... Read More
What a way to finish the long Bank Holiday weekend by coming second in the BE90 at Pontispool.
To say it was hot was an understatement and even for my test at 8.26am we were both melting!! We battled through the heat to pull off an amazing score of 24.0. The score was very unexpected because even though Rhingo warmed up beautifully soft and in my aids, it felt like it disappeared in the test and he didn’t really want to bend or listen to me as much as he was in the warm up. But obviously I was being ... Read More
I was really pleased with Rhingo’s test at Milfield. He warmed up really nicely. Now the ground has dried up it really suits him. Because he is barefoot he doesn’t like it when the ground gets chewed up and slippery in the corners. So, where it had gone hard it really suited him so he managed to do a really relaxed test for him. It was quite weird to ride as I am used to him barrelling round at 100 miles per hour. I was pleased with it despite him breaking in the free walk where I came back ... Read More
Hannah Townley is our lucky competiton winner and our 4th Supported Rider this season.
Hannah has been riding since a very early age, she has photos of her perched on the front of her mothers saddle out hacking!
Growing up she had weekly lessons and enjoyed helping out at riding schools, but she had to wait until 2 years ago to own her first horse. Rhingo (aka SuperCob) had been on loan to her since 2013 and when the opportunity came up to buy him in 2016 Hannah jumped at the chance.
Rhingo is bursting with ... Read More
