The first lady of the team announced by #theEVENTINGcrowd

#theEVENTINGcrowd have announced that the second of the four riders to be supported through 2018 is Eliza Stoddart.

It would have been hard not to have come across 25 year old eventer Eliza Stoddart at some point last year. She competed 17 horses all over the country, notched up over 30 top ten placings on horses ranging from BE 90 classes to Advanced classes as well as slipping in a cheeky 40 BD points in only 4 weeks, and a qualification for the Elementary and Medium dressage Regional’s.

Eliza was chosen by #theEVENTINGcrowd Director Karen Carson due to her determination and ability to ride numerous types of horses.

Karen Carson commented; “We wanted to show our members that being able to produce young horses, and bring them up through the levels is a fabulous way of building a partnership and making you into a top rider. Eliza’s ability to bring out the best in all different types of horses is a skill which has earnt her the respect of her peers and we are looking forward to supporting her and this talented stallion this year.”

2018 will see Eliza compete a strong string of quality horses up to 3* as well as continuing to develop the confidence and skills of a string of young horses. Having qualified 13 horses, with 2 top ten placings for the Young Horse Championships at Osberton over the past few years, it’s no wonder that Eliza is already renowned for being an excellent young horse producer.

Eliza won Team silver at the Pony Europeans in 2008, was Junior National Champion in 2010 and was selected for the Young Rider squad in 2013. She was part of the British Equestrian Federation World Class Equine Pathway from 2009 – 2014, as well as being on the British Equestrian Federation World Class Pathway from 2011 – 2012.

Based in Leicestershire Eliza will be looking to make her Event Riders Masters debut this season, as well as looking to contend a place on a Nations Cup Team.

#theEVENTINGcrowd will be following Eliza’s season with her very exciting 8 year old partner Future Gravitas (Vinnie). Vinnie is owned by Future Sport Horses who aim to breed world class horses for Eventing. The dark bay stallion definitely has the wow factor, whilst also being very trainable, a perfect combination for a top class event horse (or a top class dressage horse if you ask Ian Woodhead).

As a member of #theEVENTINGcrowd you will get to know a lot more about Eliza and the handsome stallion as well as have the opportunity to meet him, watch him train at home, at competitions and in various stallion parades.

Karen Carson continued “We want more and more people to get involved with the sport from all levels, whilst supporting British talent, and helping to keep potential winning horse and rider combinations together. This is going to be a great combination to watch this year.”

Further #theEVENTINGcrowd riders and their supported horses will be named and introduced via the #theEVENTINGcrowd website and social media platforms through January and February.
