FINAL DAY AT THE MITSUBISHI MOTORS BADMINTON HORSE TRIALS

After an action packed cross country day yesterday it was great to see all the horses presented at this morning’s trot up accepted by the ground jury. However a few horses were withdrawn ahead of the presentation.

Most notably Jock Paget won’t be running Clifton Promise from tenth place. Izzy Taylor has withdrawn KBIS Briarlands Matilda who had a storming round on the cross country yesterday but is sore today on an overreach.

Beanie Sturgis won’t complete with Lebowski who was in 55th overnight. Flora Harris’s Amazing VIII wasn’t presented, the mare was sore after completing cross country yesterday. Lucy Jackson has also withdrawn Willy Do saying that the gelding was uncomfortable overnight and is too precious to risk.

Andrew Nicholson has everything to lose as he campaigns for his first Badminton trophy from the front of the field. It’s a battle of the chestnuts with Chilli Morning under William Fox-Pitt and Armada under Oliver Townend looking to stop the Kiwi and Nereo winning. Within a fence is Germany’s Ingrid Klimke on Horseware Hale Bob and also Jock Paget’s Clifton Lush.
We’ll be tweeting and updating Facebook throughout the day, don’t forget to follow us on @EventingWWNews and check back here at the end of the day.
