I train people from all aspects of life and am always hearing “I really struggle to fit in exercise”. This is a fact of life for everyone these days; we try and do 101 things and far too often that trip to the gym gets ditched. So, I write short, sharp and effective workouts that can be done in as little as 15mins! And they work! #winner
The workout below is designed to improve your fitness with no need for equipment, just enough distance to be able to do a shuttle run! It is high intensity so should not be done if you have any injuries.
3min jog / shuttle runs, 8 squats, 8 press ups (on knees).
BURPEE x 10
Place your hands on the floor,
Jump your feet back
Jump feet forwards
Stand up with a jump into the air.
Shuttle run – 10m (there & back).
PRESS UP x 10
Hands on floor wider than shoulders,
Resting on toes
Body in straight line,
Lower your body down to half way
Push back up, keeping body straight.
JUMPING SQUAT x 10
Standing with feet wider than hips
Keeping back as straight as possible sit down to half way
Swing arms back
Jump back up whilst swing arms forward for momentum,
When landing make sure your knees are soft to avoid jarring them.
Depending on your level of fitness aim to complete all the exercises and shuttle run with no rest periods, then once all completed rest for 30-60 seconds and repeat 2 – 4 times. When finished make sure you stretch all muscle groups.
