One brand that truly emerged at Badminton 2015 was uber chic shoe and boot designers Fairfax & Favor www.fairfaxandfavor.com
With classic and very wearable designs in an array of colours from more muted tones to vibrant blues and purples, Fairfax & Favor really have nailed the ‘what to wear in town or field’ market.
Seen gracing many fine pairs of feet in both horse inspections at Badminton, and with an excellent social media campaign the team at Fairfax saw sales rise to their highest levels and firmly placed the brand on the style map. Not ones to rest on their laurels, or loafers, the team at Fairfax have continued their hard work and have been trading at numerous country fairs and events. They have been even brave enough to sign up to the 3 B’s challenge (Burghley, Blair and Blenheim) in September… any sales team bold enough to take that on deserves success!
A new development on the stand for the company is a bespoke – made bar. A collaboration with the Sipsmith distillery means their newest drinks are always complimentary to Fairfax & Favor customers, old and new. What better way to shop than with a perfectly distilled G&T in hand?
Fairfax and Favor have also announced that they will be supporting event rider Craig Barr and supplying him with footwear. Yet again demonstrating that they are becoming a truly established part of the eventing community.
What’s new at Fairfax & Favor?

Large enough to carry all your essentials, but not overly heavy, it’s the perfect eventing bag. We love the soft, and effortless classic suede look teamed with functionality. Fairfax and Favor’s iconic scalloped boot and leather zip tassel is complimented with venison leather detailing running the length of the zip and inner boot header for maximum comfort. The crafting includes a leather inner and outer sole and the boot is double stitched with strengthening detail on the boot spine. The Regina’s chic long line and tailored ankle is flattering on any leg making it an all season must-have that gets noticed. RRP £295 from Sizes 3-9
The Chelsea in supple suede is a Fairfax and Favor classic. Featuring the F & F signature navy blue side panels and elegant chiseled toe. The Chelsea is the perfect Chelsea boot to wear to work or any social occasion. RRP £180 Sizes 6 to 14
Craig was lucky enough to receive his boots at Badminton and has been a fan from the first time he wore them.
“I never knew style and comfort could go hand in hand until I wore Fairfax & Favor boots! If I could I wouldn’t wear anything else”
With this sort of endorsement it’s hardly surprising that The Chelsea has become a wardrobe stable for so many men. Despite being a boot the Chelsea is decidedly versatile. Craig chose a pair in dark brown as he felt they would work with smart and casual wear.
‘They are also really suitable for trot ups as they can cope with all sorts of weather and terrain plus you can keep up with a fit event horse, and not end up injured if they decide to get over excited!’
Priced at £180 a pair The Chelsea isn’t the cheapest boot you will find, nor is it the most expensive. But pound for pound the reviews team thought that it offered the best value for money in terms of quality and classic style. Not forgetting comfort! If you are looking for a cross season boot that can be worn in town or the country look towards The Chelsea for a boot that will stand the test of time and wear.
Nikki decided to opt for royal blue flat heeled Regina boots with some interchangeable red tassels.
‘I was thrilled to receive my boots. They were delivered quickly and with lovely packaging including a hand written note which was a great personal touch. The boots are an amazing, vibrant colour and quite a statement piece but I really liked that. The fit was superb and the venison leather detailing ensures they sit well on the leg and look elegant, without being over tight.
Because of the elasticated panels that are subtly stitched into the back of the boot it is easy to wear Reginas over thick socks and trousers or slim, skinny jeans. This makes them so versatile and I have been wearing them quite a lot this summer because of the awfully wet weather.
So many people have commented on my blue boots and they are a really are a beguiling style. Not just a plain suede boot but one with really lovey added details in the fit and styling. A great product to purchase if you are looking for something that can be worn on many occasions and will last more than one season’s wear’.
So it’s a definite YES to Fairfax and Favor. At last a company that can mix classic style, with fashion detailing to produce a quality product. To purchase buy online or visit one of their many trade stands (listed on the website). www.fairfaxandfavor.com
