Eventing Ireland and Equiratings drive for safety

Eventing Ireland has announced a partnership with EquiRatings to monitor cross country performance and promote a responsible attitude towards campaigning an event horse. EquiRatings, the advanced eventing analytics Company owned by international event rider Sam Watson and lawyer Diarmuid Byrne, has created a form tracking system called the EquiRatings Quality Index (ERQI). It has analysed more than 150,000 results worldwide across all levels of competition. Boyd Martin secures $75,000 Wellington Eventing Showcase

American Boyd Martin was once again victorious at the $75,000 Wellington Eventing Showcase, this year with Blackfoot Mystery.  Third after the dressage the pairing took victory by keeping a clean sheet in both the show jumping cross country phases of the event, which took place at Palm Beach International Equestrian Center (PBIEC) over the weekend. Equine Canada announces National and Elite Eventing Squads

Equine Canada has announced the athletes who have been nominated to the Canadian National and Elite Eventing Squads. Those selected to the Elite squad have a proven record at CCI/CIC3* and/or CCI4* in the previous 12 months that demonstrates the combination is capable of being competitive at the 2016 Olympic Games. Those selected to the 2016 Canadian Eventing Elite Squad are (in alphabetical order): Rebecca Howard, Holly Jacks, Selena O’Hanlon, Jessica Phoenix and Waylon Roberts. Tapner and Burton named on Australian High Performance Eventing Squad.

Paul Tapner, Sam Griffiths and Christopher Burton are amongst the riders named by Equestrian Australia as part of its High Performance eventing squad. High Performance Squads include riders and/or combinations identified as having the potential to represent Australia at a major championships and are categorised into three groups – Gold, Green and Generation Next. In order to be eligible to be nominated as part of the 2016 Australian Olympic Shadow Team athletes must be named in the Equestrian Australia High Performance Squads. Ireland’s young eventers were amongst those honoured at reception to recognise the achievements of underage riders last year. The reception was hosted on Thursday January 14 by GAIN Horse feeds and Horse Sport Ireland at Lyrath Hotel, Kilkenny, to celebrate the success of Team Ireland Equestrian’s underage Showjumping and Eventing Teams in 2015. Rider List Announced for $75,000 Asheville Regional Airport Wellington Eventing Showcase

Top event riders from the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand are set to compete for the $75,000 Asheville Regional Airport Wellington Eventing Showcase. Presented by Wellington Equestrian Realty, the event will be held at The Stadium at Palm Beach International Equestrian Center (PBIEC), on February 5-6, 2016. Van Tuyl heads ESNZ Super League Series

The Puhinui International Three-day Event marked the halfway stage in the year-long ESNZ eventing Super League Series. The Honda NZ CCI3* class attracted a select bunch of elite horses and riders who were vying for points in the Eventing Super League. Going into the event, Katharine Van Tuyl and Double J Sunshine were in second place after winning at Taupo in October and being runner-up at the National Eventing Championships at Takapau. TAIT JOINS NEW ZEALANDS HIGH PERFORMANCE EVENTING SQUAD

Equestrian Sports New Zealand has named its High Performance eventing squads heading into 2016, and includes four time Olympia Blyth Tait. Blyth - who represented New Zeland at the Olympic Games in 1992 (where he won individual bronze and team silver), 1996 (where he won individual gold and team Bronze), 2000 and 2004 - has been named on the squad with Xanthus III and Bear Necessity V.
