I had a good weekend at Warwick Hall Horse trials with HD The One contesting his first Novice.
We were in the lead after the dressage with a score of 28. Unfortunately he had a bit of a green moment in both the show jumping and the cross country. We picked up 8 jumping and seven time in the show jumping. On the cross country we had a stop at and also two-time penalties. However, despite this I was very happy with the way he performed.
After Warwick Hall I took HD Bronze, Ramilo and Coco at Alnwick Ford Equestrian for some show jumping. Coco was at his first event with me and we won the 1 metre class. I schooled Ramilo around a 1.20 metre track and he jumped really well, whilst HD Bronze schooled round a big 1.30m track and jumped foot perfect. It was a great weekend with all the horses and I was really pleased with them all.
The following weekend I took HD The One to do another Novice at Bishop Burton. He did a nice test but just made a couple of mistakes so we scored 38.3 in the dressage. But he went on to jump a lovely double clear easily inside the time to finish 11thwhich put us just out of the placings. I am thrilled with how he is coming on – he’s definitely going to be a special one in the future.
Next weekend I’ll be competing at Belsay where I have HD Bronze and Ramilo in the Intermediate, HD The One in the Novice and Coco Silvano will be doing the BE100.
