From the 13th-14th August, West Wilts Equestrian Centre held their second BE event of the season. They had sections from 90 up to Novice, as well as a 100u18, Nu18, and 4yo and 5yo sections.

Austin O’Connor has a successful weekend with his 4 rides all completing with double clears, and with 3 finishing in the top 10. He rode One More Cooley in the 5yo section and completed with a 34 dressage and a double clear to finish 12th. He took 7th place in the BE100 section D riding Jarveyville following a 31 dressage and a double clear. Austin also had 2 horses in the Novice; Castor HZ was in section J and finished 3rd after a 29 dressage and a double clear, and Money Talks III took the win in section K when completing on their dressage of 29.3.
Alexa Palmer took 2nd place behind Austin in section K riding Global Super Nova following a 31 dressage and a double clear.

The win in the Open Novice went to Emily Llewellyn riding Exclusive. The pair added 2.8 time penalties from the cross country to their dressage of 25 to finish in pole position ahead of Lissa Green and Corraggio Z in 2nd. This pair were the only combination in the section to complete on their dressage score: 30.3. David Doel took 3rd place riding Reybridge River Danz after they added just 4 showjumping penalties to their dressage of 26.5.

Max Warburton rode Beplus in Novice section I to read from start to finish after a best dressage score of 27 and a double clear, just adding 0.4 cross country time penalties to complete with a mark of 27.4. Max also had a ride in section J: Riverside Lesotho, which he piloted to 2nd place when completing on their dressage score of 28.5.
The win in section J went to Cassiana De Riverland ridden by Tom McEwen. The pair completed on their dressage score of 27.8, after adding 0 penalties from either of the jumping phases.

Lara Chapple and Lawd Of The Mill took the win in the ONu18 when the pair led the class from start to finish after obtaining the best dressage score of 29.8. They then went double clear and added just 0.4 time penalties from the cross country phase to finish on a total of 30.2. Tom Griffiths took 2nd place riding Boskenwyn Lad, on a score of 30.5, and 3rd place went to Lily Ryder and SRS Everest withba axore I’d 31.5.

Dani Evans won the 4yo class riding Monbeg Shelby in the horses first BE. Their dressage of 26 wasn’t beaten all day, and when followed by a double clear, meant that they took the win. Louisa Lockwood finished 2nd riding Kublesco in a score of 26.5. Louisa also took 2nd place in the 5yo section A riding Ballyengland Dawn after the pair completed on their dressage score of 24.3. The win in this 5yo section went to Georgie Strang riding Rock Anthem.

The win in the other 5yo section (B) went to Bill Levett and Shannondale Mario. The pair went double clear to add nothing to their dressage of 26.3. 2nd spit was taken by Helen Witchell riding MHS Instant Karma, and it was this combinations first BE event together. They also completed on their dressage of 27.

Overall, it was a very successful weekend for many at West Wilts, and we look forward to welcoming you all back again in a couple of weeks on the dates of the 7th/8th September for their third BE event of the year!
