It was a busy day at Kirkley Hall with nearly 200 combinations competing across its eight sections of grassroots classes.
Susan Chappelhow-Lacey and Glenmore of Roisbheinn collected their second win of the 2018 calendar with a win in BE90 Section C. Having previously won at Warwick Hall in the BE80(T) they took their first victory at this level with a score of 29.4.
She’s Gold lived up to her name under the ridership of Jade Thompson with the pair winning in BE90 Open Section D. It was the pair’s second win in a row having won on their previous outing at Floors Castle. They finished on their dressage score of 19.3 and had a winning margin of 5.6 penalties.
The event ran two BE80(T) classes. Section E was won by Amy Watson and Finesse Flagmount Joy on their first affiliated event together. Section F was won by Harriet Jackson on Greagh Prince.
Laura Ritchie Bland kept up her winning streak, this weekend winning BE100 Open Section H with Lord Aster, having also won at Belsay with another of her horses the previous weekend.
Following the event organisers said “The biggest thank you to all who have helped, volunteered, sponsored, officiated, judged or who have contributed in any way to make Kirkley horse trials run so smoothly today.”
