Nicola Wilson was the big winner at Belsay Horse Trials, coming away with three wins from the Northumberland event. 

Wilson’s biggest win of the weekend was in the Novice Regional Final (Section G) wirh JL Dublin. Her other wins came in BE100 Section Q with Chabadu – a second win for the pair this season – and in Novice Section Q with Elite Jaguar – their third win in a row this season. 

Wills Oakden was a double winner coming away victorious in BE100 Section B with Zuccheros Deff Leppard, taking their second win of the 2017 season, and in Open Intermediate Section E with Ballbreaker SD. Another double winner was Katie Magee, who walked away with the honours in Intermediate Novice Section H with Enceladus – a second win for the pair in 2017 – and Intermediate Section I with Grand Amour A, again taking a second win for the pair this season. 

Caroline Taylor and Castlelawn Fantastic came away from Belsay with a second BE win under their belt when they were triumphant in BE100 Section C. The same feat was achieved by Anna Galbraith who was victorious in BE100 Section P with My Slaney Lass, and also Kirstin Bamford, who won the Open Intermediate Under 21 Section F with Gummys Twinkeling. 

In BE100 Section N Jennifer Gaskell came away with an 11.7 penalty victory with Mycathlly Zilando Image, winning on a score of 19.3. Matt Hecking and Harle Belle also had a clear win in Intermediate Section D. Their winning score of 25.6 put them 14.4 penalties ahead of the rest of the field.
