CIC*** Cross Country to be streamed live from Belton

Cross Country from the CIC*** at Belton International Horse Trials will be streamed around the world for the first time.

Eventing fans will be able to see all the action from this class at the Lincolnshire event via the website Live For those who are on-site there will be coverage over all three days of the competition which will be shown on the Big Screen situated by the Lycetts Lounge Hospitality tent.

Belton International forms part of the inaugural Shearwater Insurance Tri-Star Eventing Series. Oliver Townend was the winner at the first leg held at Burnham Market, and he is sure to be in the mix again.

With Olympic selection at the forefront of many riders minds, Belton has attracted some of the world’s best riders, with the CIC*** Grantham Cup set to be hotly contested. Entries include Christopher Burton, Jock Paget, Tina Cook, Ludwig Svennerstal, Bettina Hoy, Laura Collett, Mark Todd and Kitty King. As well as the CIC***, competitors will be battling out for honours in Novice, Intermediate , IC** and Advanced classes, with stars of the future also in action in Open Novice Under 18 and Open Intermediate Under 21 classes.

An exciting inclusion among the World’s best riders competing at Belton this year, William Fox Pitt will be partnering  Cool Mountain along with Little Fire and Secret Night in the Open Intermediate Classes – the 13th year he has made an appearance at the event.

Joining William on his own journey back from injury is six time Olympic rider Andrew Nicholson. The New Zealander has said he has been “incredibly lucky” after he suffered a serious neck injury during a heavy fall at the Festival of British Eventing in August 2015. Returning to Belton for the 8th consecutive year Andrew brings his Badminton bound rides Avebury and Nereo to contest the Advanced classes.

As well as the eventing competition, the beautiful Belton House Estate will be transformed into a hive of activity, with something for all the family. This year’s trials include a brand new interactive zone, a classic car show, a family fun fair, stallion parade, more than 100 trade stands, a family dog show and an exhilarating high gate jump competition.
