Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials has announced that it will be hosting its own, onsite radio station “Burghley Radio” for the 2018 equestrian event.
Burghley Radio will broadcast competition commentary throughout the event, enabling visitors to the annual horse trials to keep up-to-date with the latest action, wherever they are on the showground. They’ll also be able to listen to interviews, opinion and lifestyle features. The station will broadcast within a 10 to 15-mile radius and for those who are unable to get to the event themselves, it will also stream live audio content via www.burghley-horse.co.uk enabling everyone to keep up-to-date with all the action.
Burghley Radio will be on air from the afternoon of Wednesday 29th August, covering the first horse inspection and then from 8.30am – 6pm daily. Outside those hours a recorded highlights and preview programme will be available to tune into.
Burghley Radio earpieces will be available to purchase at £10 on site or in advance by booking online via the Burghley box office website, www.burghley-horse.co.uk. Burghley Radio will replace the Dressage and Jumping commentary headsets that were previously available solely in the East Grandstand.
Commenting on the new radio station, Elizabeth Inman, Event Director said: “Many of our visitors have requested this service and we are pleased to add this extra dimension to the visitor experience at the 2018 Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials. Burghley Radio will be ideal for those who want to enjoy some retail therapy in our shopping village, without missing out on the competition and also, for those looking for real insight and explanation, our commentators and studio guests will be offering informed opinions and analysis throughout the four days of competition.”
