BURGHAM INTERNATIONAL (2)

Burgham is fast becoming a firm favourite on the BE calendar attracting top riders in the sport and receiving fantastic feedback from last weekends event. And as always we have to thank Organisers, Sponsors and volunteers who make it all happen.

BE90 Section G was won by Claire Marshall rider 8year old Billanianburn “Burgham was a great event, it was the horses second BE event, he has not had great luck as has had health problems so it is a miracle he is fit and well and doing so well! Looking to do one more BE 90 at Drumclog then have a rest through the winter! Really enjoyed Burgham will definitely go back next year”

Section H won by Johanna Wolfe on the (not so dinky) 17.1h mare Dinky II. Section I was won by Holly Stevenson on Touchdown Billy on a whopping 19 dressage score. The Open section was won by Stephanie O Niel on What Have I Dun owned by Connie Snowie “I got the ride on him at burgham because Connie was on holiday. He is such a fun little horse and he gave me a great ride”

Janine Wright on Brigadier Lady posted her best score this season to win the BE90 regional final with Karon Carson just one 1 penalty behind in second on Finding Nico “I am over the moon with Nico he is such a genuine honest and lovely straight horse He was 10th in the Restricted novice at petplan national champs and 9th in prelim in April this year he won his 1st event at Warwick hall this season He is 10yr old by The Bat Tb out of irish mare Like a Magpie I wish I had 10 of him he truely is my horse of a lifetime Aim to do few 100 s after Scottish champs then up to novice I would like to do a 1* on him”

BE100 Section K was won by Andrew Malcolm riding Knockaround a 17h gelding. Section L was won by Wills Oakden on the Mullentine Goose finishing on their dressage score a great start to their season. Open Section M was won by Laurence Hunt on Downton Cally who posted her best dressage score to date of 23 “I’d just like to say how well run and how friendly the event was”

High standard dressage marks were order of the day in the Novice Classes, Section E was won by Jamie Atkinson riding Etilia on a dressage of 21.8. Section N was won by Alice Lumley on Foxwood Brown Sugar on a dressage of 18.8 The Open section won by Piggy French on a score of 21.3 “Belco HRS has already had a lot of success with Tommy How and I’m grateful to Hows Racesafe for offering me the ride. I’ve taken a bit of time to establish a partnership with him but am now looking forward to really getting going. He’s an exciting horse to have.”

International Intermediate** won by Julia Lewson on the beautiful stallion Primitive Faerie Tale.

Intermediate section D was won by Caroline Powell riding Sinatra Frank Baby a 16.1 9year old gelding. Section D1 won by Kate Rocher Smith on Call Me Dassett and 8 year old  gelding.

Open Intermediate Section C was won by Aoife Clark “Im Delighted to have Fernhill Adventure back out again, He chipped his stifle at Chatsworth whilst being placed 6th in the Advanced. He has made a great recovery and this was his first run back, he is a serious horse and will now be aimed at Blenheim. Burgham is quite a trek for us but it is a brilliant event and we will certainly be back next year “

International Advanced *** was won by Nicola Wilson riding One to Many “I was delighted with One Two Many’s last run before the Europeans in a few weeks times, leading from the start. It was always my intention to give Him and Annie Clover a steady run xc so to win really is the icing on the cake! I thought the event at Burgham just gets better and better and I had some lovely rides around the courses, the main arena gives a really lovely little bit of atmosphere for the dressage and showjumping which is great practice for both young and old”
