British Eventing has announced its strategic plan for the next four years, setting out the goals, key performance indicators and critical success factors required to meet the vision of the sport.
The British Eventing Strategic Plan for 2016-2020 sets out its vision to provide the ‘ultimate equestrian challenge’, and its goals focus around the critical success factors of people, horses, success, modernisation and innovation and operational excellence. Its aims laid out in the plan include the development of insights to engage with current and potential members, continuing to review and maintain leading standards in event quality and risk management and to educate and promote horse welfare.
British Eventing is also seeking to increase the accessibility of the sport, creating pathways for horses to reach their full potential and for BE to be recognised as the leading eventing national federation worldwide, along with ensuring the needs of both stakeholders and the sport are met.
Representatives from all key stakeholder groups were involved in the process with their input added to the final plan. It will be reviewed each year to prioritise key targets and milestones for the sport and the business.
British Eventing’s Chief Executive David Holmes, commented; “The Management Team are currently working on the Operational Plans and tactics which are required to enable the Strategic Goals and their associated KPIs to be met. At the end of 2016 there will be a full review of the Strategic and Operational Plans to see if anything needs to be amended. In this way we can continue to ensure that we are targeting resources in the most appropriate way to achieve the vision and critical success factors of the sport.”
