BCPS Eventing Series to run in 2019

The British Connemara Pony Society (BCPS) has announced it will be running its Eventing Series in 2019.

The move comes in response to requests from its members to put on more for performance Connemara’s and the series will be run in conjunction with Horse Events.

The series is open to registered pure and part-bred Connemara ponies (including those over-height) and qualifiers will be run at 80cm, 90cm and 100cm at a variety of nationwide events during the season. Combinations will qualify for the championship at Broadway if they post a top ten placing or a double clear at one of the qualifying events.

In order to qualify and compete at the championship, ponies will need to be registered with the BCPS as pure-bred or part-bred Connemara’s and riders and/or owners must be either Full or Performance Members of the BCPS.  Membership registration numbers will be required to enable you to enter the championship final.

“We believe that this is a really exciting opportunity to showcase the Connemara pony as a performance animal,” says BCPS Chairman Henrietta Knight. “We hope that it will appeal to current members as well as encouraging new people to join the Society.”
