Badminton Horse Trials is marking its 25 year partnership with Mitsubishi Motors through a special commission.
The world’s most famous three day event will mark the celebratory year by creating two replica rocking horses based on the Duke of Beaufort’s favourite horse Countryman III, whom he competed at Badminton in 1957, 1958 and in 1959.
The rocking horses will be created by the Stevenson Brothers, who have been handcrafting rocking horses for more than 30 years. Twin brothers Marc and Tony Stevenson have made rocking horses for Harrods, Selfridges, the Sultan of Brunei, her Majesty the Queen and members of the Royal family.
One of the commemorative rocking horses will be presented to His Grace the Duke of Beaufort in his home and the other will be stabled at Mitsubishi Motors head office in Cirencester as a display of this on-going relationship.
Progress of the creation of the rocking horses can be followed on Badminton Horse Trials Facebook page and they will be officially unveiled next year.
