Andrew Nicholson Undergoes Surgery after Fall at Festival

A family spokesperson has updated news of the condition of Andrew Nicholson following a fall at The 027Festival of British Eventing in the CIC 3* at Gatcombe Park, yesterday (Sunday 9th August).

The spokesperson told EWW reporters late this afternoon (Tuesday 11th)

‘Andrew underwent surgery yesterday to repair the injury to his neck. The surgery went well and his condition is stable. Andrew is comfortable and has full range of movement. His family would like to thank the many well-wishers.’

Andrew was taken to hospital in Swindon immediately following the fall. He was then transferred to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford where he remains.

EWW can confirm Andrew’s horse Cillnabradden Evo is uninjured as a result of the fall.
