Nikki, the EWW Fashion Editor, had a quick catch up with the owner of famed Badminton social hangout, The Outside Chance.

Rushing between meetings and preparations for his guests, Freddie Tulloch, shared some of the amazing events and hospitality that the venue has on offer from Wednesday 6th May.

‘We are really thrilled with the look of The Outside Chance this year. Instead of displaying a large scale winners photo over the bar this year we have worked with Artist Ripley has produced a really beguiling digitally edited photograph of last year’s winner Sam Griffiths, standing in front of Badminton House. I didn’t think we could beat the look of last year’s bar but what we have achieved for 2015 is amazing’ said Freddie.

It seems like Freddie is constantly on the quest to create the ultimate social experience for his guests. His enthusiasm and love for hospitality and entertaining is clear and The Outside Chance will be offering something for all visitors during Badminton week.

The venue will be open from Wednesday and will remain open, serving breakfast to late dinner and drinks until Sunday evening.

The new Langley’s gin bar will be serving their famed Langley’s No 8 cup old style English gin
There aren’t many eventing fans who don’t love a classic gin and tonic and Langley’s will be running a happy hour from 5-6pm every day, with large G&T’s for £5. There really isn’t a better way to end a busy day at Badminton.

The champagne house Pommery will be serving a plentiful selection of bottles including a well-stocked cellar of magnums and jeroboams for those who can’t live without their fizz.

With all the action and bountiful shopping opportunities, there is no doubt spectators will be in need of some quality dining. This year the London restaurant Boisdale will be providing top quality Scottish influenced food, with a wide range of meat and fish based dishes on offer. There will also be curry nights on Friday and Saturday, providing meat and vegetarian options at a really affordable price. The perfect way to re-fuel before the partying begins!

On Wednesday lunchtime The Outside Chance will be playing host to the launch of equine commentator, Mike Tucker’s, new venture. Unknown to many Mike is a keen herdsman and has a passion for wagyu beef. He will be offering a tasting of his new wagyu burgers which we hope to review. A perfect venue to launch a decidedly British product with global influences.

Entertainment wise, Freddie has been keen to ensure that the excitement doesn’t end when the riding stops for the day. He has live music booked for Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings and we are sure that many riders will be seen partying or commiserating like only eventers can.

The Outside Chance is a Badminton tradition and boasts the best views of the lake side fences for viewing on cross country day.

‘The fences are so near to us you almost feel like you could jump them yourself. We undoubtedly have the number one location for socialising but not missing any of the action’ said Freddie.

It seems like Freddie has left no stone unturned in the quest for the ultimate sporting social experience.

‘We have a VIP area that is bookable if guests would prefer to reserve an area to sit. We also have outside seating especially for cross country day that can be pre booked. You really can’t beat the location and what we have on offer. ’ explained Freddie.

The Outside Chance will be the place to be seen yet again. The EWW social team will be there, so join us for a Langley’s or two (or three…)

For VIP and outside seating bookings please call Freddie on 07770 605879 to make a reservation.
