The British Eventing calendar is being extended into November with the addition of an extra fixture at Aston Le Walls.
Following a proposal from the Northamptonshire venue to host a further event, the decision has been made by the Sport Committee, following a request from the Board, to permit an additional fixture.
On Friday 4th and Saturday 5th November 2016 Aston-le-Walls will host the final BE event of this year with classes ranging from Airowear BE80(T) to BE100 level. Entries for the Northamptonshire event are already open offering members with the opportunity to compete past the usual season closing date of the end of October.
The standard entry process will apply for this extra date and an amended ballot policy will be published on the Aston le Walls webpage on BDWP (www.bdwp.co.uk). With only four weeks until the event we encourage any riders wishing to take this opportunity to enter as soon as possible.
David Holmes, CEO of British Eventing commented: “This is very much a pilot event since normally the season closes the same weekend as the clocks change. This has been the case for many years since the viability of events is significantly affected by the considerably shortened daylight hours. British Eventing will be reviewing the policy about extending the season in the coming months.”
Nigel Taylor commented: “We are looking forward to offering the members a further event in the season, as always all dressage and show jumping will be on all weather surfaces. We look forward to seeing you here.”
