A GREAT PLACE TO VIEW THE BEST YOUNG EVENT HORSES AT THIS YEARS OSBERTON YOUNG HORSE CHAMPIONSHIPS

The London Capital & Fianance Osberton International Horse Trials incorporating the Young Horse Championships is set to return to the Osberton Estate, Worksop, this September and with a jam packed schedule!

A celebration of young event horse talent in Great Britain, The London Capital & Fianance Osberton International Horse Trials incorporating the Young Horse Championships is the best place to spot the up and coming event horses of the future.

Osberton International Horse Trials not only offers a fantastic end to the season, the Young Horse four, five, six- and seven-year-old championships offer a brilliant shop window into the future of eventing talent. The Young Horse Championships have grown year on year with notable ‘Osberton graduates’ such as British squad representatives Billy The Biz and Ceylor LAN (Rio 2016), and Billy The Red, Bulana and Allstar B (gold medal winners, Strzegom 2017). Ireland’s Rio contestants Cooley Rorkes Drift and Jemilla are also Osberton graduates.

Stuart Buntine, Director of BEDE Events says, “Osberton is such a special event, a lovely end to the season for the topflight young event horses! It is an honour to see so many flourish on the international stage in the years following.”

2018 will also welcome Brightwells Auctioneers to the schedule. Brightwells have an enviable pedigree when it comes to selling successful horses and will be introducing the inaugural Osberton Event Horse Sale this year.
“Selling an Olympic Gold medal winning eventer is our next aim” said Sarah Johnson of Brightwells. “When doing the groundwork and looking for feedback from the eventing world, we spoke to an awful lot of names, who I’m delighted to say have all collectively given the idea a big thumb’s up, and we’re now hoping, that with their support, that this venture will prove to be something really special, which can only prove to be beneficial, for everyone involved”.

Harry Meade, one of Britain’s leading event riders who represented Great Britain as part of the silver medal winning team at the 2014 World Championships has applauded the idea and given it his seal of approval by saying “Osberton attracts some of the best young horses, and by joining forces with Brightwells, I can see this as an exciting opportunity for anyone wishing to buy a future star, and will do all that I can to help promote the venture”.

Aside from the eventing taking place at Osberton estate, another true crowd pleaser is the infamous gate jumping. Often reaching the dizzying heights of over 150cm, the challenge is not for the feint hearted! Entrants will be challenged not only o a scopey triple bar but also the upright white gates! Riders may knock the gate, but if they wish to continue in the competition they must sacrifice an item of clothing! Reaching the final is no mean feat and it is hoped the gate will reach record heights at this years competition!

Local grassroots riders will also be getting in on the action at the Osberton International Horse Trials, with the return of the highly successful Arena Eventing. The appeal of competing on the same turf as their eventing heroes is hugely appealing for local riders, offering a behind the scenes glimpse of international eventing. With classes at 90cm & 1m, riders will be challenged to a full course of show jumps followed directly with a shortened cross country course.

Osberton International Horse Trials take place at Osberton Estate in Osberton, Worksop from 26th – 30th September 2018. Children under 14 go free. Tickets are available online now at www.osberton-horse.co.uk and prices start at just £6.50 for adults. Parking on site is available.
