The Prize Giving Sponsored By

This week’s winner of ‘The Prize Giving’ has to go to Francesca Brough who had a fantastic day at Borde Hill.

Francesca Brough (Chezzie) had a very successful weekend at Borde Hill taking 1st place in BE90 Section E on her 5 year old ‘Ferdi’ and 3rd place in the BE100 Section J on her second ride ‘Emorka P’, adding to the first place she achieved with Emorka P at the same level in the June event.

Borde Hill topped off what has been a fantastic few weeks for Chezzie and Ferdi, with the pairing achieving a double clear at Eridge last weekend to come 7th in a competitive 5 year old section, Ferdi’s first age class!

11267553_10155871427965228_109593168_o‘Ferdi was purchased last year as a 4yr old, but we were not able to do a great deal with him as his feet deteriorated badly and we couldn’t shoe him until June this year. I did a lot of work in the school trying to establish his balance and attempting to contain his extravagant jump! We were thrilled when he was placed 2nd at his first unaff 90 at Mattingley. Ferdi began his BE career at BCA with another 90, clear xc with just 1 sj down. When he completed on a D/C at rackham and was placed 7th it gave me the confidence to enter him into a 5yr old section at Eridge where he also came 7th. A first place at borde hill has led me to hope that he might just qualify for the young horse champs this Sept! He’s such a fun little horse and I just love riding him. Looking forward to a bright future together!’ Their next event will be the 5 year old’s class at West Wilts.

Chezzie is based in West Sussex where she runs a small Eventing yard with her sister Cassie, who also Events.
