Studbook: Selle Francais and Belgian Warmblood Studbook.

DESIR DU CHATEAU is intelligent with a good temperament, but being 68% thoroughbred he is more typical of a thoroughbred than a warmblood in temperament. He is 68% thoroughbred and Anglo-Arab, and he brings size and a lot of “blood” to his progeny.
Desir du Chateau combines the genes of one of France’s best sires, Quidam de Revel, with one of the very best damlines in France, the Manuela line. This damline has produced 28 international show jumpers.
At 16.3hh he brings size and a lot of “blood” to his progeny. He would therefore suit part bred mares, or mares needing to increase the height of their offspring. The family index for jumping is extremely high and is reliably passed on, so he would put ‘jump’ on mares lacking scope.
He descends from one of the strongest jumping lines in the world and would therefore consistently put jump on mares. Being very ‘blood’ in his type and in his genes he will add the jump without losing gallop – which will make him a extremely good choice for event horse breeders.

Where does he stand? In Ireland at Morningside Stud and can be seen there. There is also a DVD available from Future Sport Horses showing him performing.

Does he cover mares? No

Is he available for AI? Frozen only (semen frozen when younger)
