2012 will see the addition of a new International Horse Trials in Fife, Scotland.
The CCI1* and CCI** previously run very successfully by Polly Lochore at Burgie has moved south to Balcarres, which looks over the Firth of Forth. The news that the International classes will remain in Scotland will be welcomed by those British Eventing members based north of the border.
Balcarres Castle will be run by well know organiser James Oakden and his team who also run the Central Scotland Horse Trials at Scone Palace.
British Eventing Regional Coordiantor Frances Hay-Smith said of the move “It is very exciting to have a British Eventing horse trials in the Kingdom of Fife, and to have such a stunning venue which is easily accessible just over the Forth Road Bridge north of Ediburgh”.
Lord and Lady Balniel’s backing has been crucial to establishing the event, which will take place from the 14th to the 17th June 2012. The cross country course will be designed by Eric Winter, and classes will include BE90, BE100, Novice, CCI1* and CCI2**.
