Be part of the UK’s largest dedicated online eventing magazine
Eventing Worldwide is looking to recruit a team of volunteer reporters, photographers and specific correspondents for the 2012 season.
It takes an army of people to deliver the latest news to our 12,000 monthly readers, and with the eventing season fast approaching we’re on the lookout for budding news reporters and photographers to join the team. The roles are unpaid, but you’ll get the satisfaction of knowing that an army of readers will be looking at your work.
We’re looking to fill the following roles:
- Event Reporters
Our reporting team will bring the latest event reports from every Horse Trials in the country. You’ll attend the event, keep an eye on the action, photograph the fences, interview the winners and then write up the report. You can see the kind of thing we’re looking for here.
-Event Photographers
Our team of event photographers capture the action from every event in the country, helping to bring our news stories to light. You don’t have to be a pro, just have an eye for a good picture and be able to capture the moment. We may also ask event photographers on occasion to contribute to our course photograph galleries.
-Olympic Correspondents
2012 is the biggest year for eventing in the UK for a very long time. As part of our programme of delivering a truly global coverage of the games we’re looking to recruit correspondents specifically focussed on each national team, bringing all the latest in the run up to the games. You’ll learn the ins and outs of team horses, riders and staff, make connections with the National Governing Bodies and be able to provide regular updates through your own column on how their quest for gold is looking in the run up to the games.
What are we looking for? Well, we’re looking for fun-loving and outgoing people who can deliver to a deadline. You don’t have to be a trained journo, just have a decent grasp of the English language. You might be a rider who can report whilst at an event, a volunteer, or just an eventing fan.
You’ll be just as nuts as us. A love of burger stand food, British weather and Red Bull is generally helpful. Your personal motto is likely to be “Keep Calm and Carry On”.
So, if that tickles your fancy then send us an email telling us why you’re the best thing since sliced bread to paul@eventingworldwide.com
