Eventing High Performance Manager Ginny Elliott has named a squad of six horse and rider combinations from which she will select five to travel to the World Equestrian Games this autumn – she had previously announced that funds were only available to fly five horses to America.

The list, in alphabetical order, is:

Elizabeth Power    Kilpatrick River
Michael Ryan    Ballylynch Adventure
Patricia Ryan    Fernhill Clover Mist
Camilla Spiers    Portersize Just a Jiff
Sam Watson    Horseware Bushman

Ms Elliott said that these six combinations had earned their place on the squad with strong performances in the early season four-star competitions in Badminton and Luhmuhlen. She added that all must continue to show good form and that other combinations could be added to the list.

It would be a first senior team appearance for Camilla Spiers, Sam Watson and Elizabeth Power both having earnt their senior flags at last year’s European Championships.
