The countdown is on to the 2012 International Eventing Forum at Hartpury
Now widely considered to be a ‘must attend’ pre season fixture, an inspiring panel of speakers and demonstration riders are lined up for the 2012 International Eventing Forum, which will take place on the 6th of February at Hartpury College in Gloucestershire.
This day-long educational event brings some of the world’s most talented event riders together with some of the sport’s most experienced coaches for a fascinating day of training and debate centred upon what it takes to succeed in the challenging sport of Eventing.
This year’s theme of ‘Focus on Success’ ensures that the day will prove invaluable for anyone interested in the sport of eventing, from event riders of all levels to trainers, owners, breeders and officials alike. Top riders will be put through their paces by the Forum’s experienced panel of coaches, while visitors will have the opportunity to interact and pose questions to ensure that everyone will finish the day with a fresh perspective and valuable new insights into training for top class performance.
The 2012 Forum will be chaired by Eric Smiley FBHS, coach to the Belgian Olympic Team, and the panel of speakers together possess a powerful depth of knowledge, skill and experience. A legendary competitor and trainer, Chris Bartle has achieved success at the highest level in both eventing and dressage and is coach to the German Olympic Team. Laurent Bousquet has represented France at Championship level in eventing, coached Belgium to secure European Team Bronze in 2009 and is currently Chef d’Equipe of the French Olympic Team. Luis Alvarez Cervera has impressively competed at Olympic level in both show jumping and eventing and is currently show jumping coach to the New Zealand Olympic Team. And the final speaker is none other than David O’Connor, US Olympian and coach to the Canadian Olympic Team.
In addition to these wonderful ‘demonstration based’ training sessions, there will be an opportunity to hear the very latest International ‘updates’ from the FEI Eventing Committee, and from the 2012 Equestrian Olympic site, at Greenwich.
The International Eventing Forum will count as an official training day for British Eventing (BE) Accredited Trainers, as well as being recognised as an approved refresher course for BHS Registered Instructors.
